    A Victorian Childhood by Walter Littler - 40 years after his death his daughters found an account of Walter's early life and produced this book.
    Not Far From Wigan Pier by Ted Dakin - tales of life during the 1920s in a Lancashire town. Down to Earth.
    My Vanished World by Nell Adams - graphical description of an idyllic world in the Shan States (Burma) descending into horror as the war takes hold.
    New Horizons Beckon by Patricia Coates - English couple's wanderlust through Europe.
    Italy Again and Again by Brian Darwent - love of the Italian experience and scenic delights.

    Part two - social/political/religious
    The Triple Effect by Dr. M.S. Rao - 'To Be and How To Be,' 'Look After Yourself' and 'Interview with Jesus.' Dr. Rao advises us to 'doubt everything' in this eclectic mix of alternative medicine, psychology and religion.

    Data and Purchase Security

       Infinity Junction and inter-read do not pass on any personal details we receive to any other organisations apart from that data transmitted, in highly encrypted form, from our shop directly to the internet super-secure credit card processor we use. During the course of on-line shopping, once you have confirmed you wish to buy, you are transferred to a super-high-security trading server which only notifies us of your name, address(es), the products ordered and their value. (See not far above for a link to an explanation of our on-line shop.) Infinity Junction and its asssociated organisations never actually know any of the details of your credit card at all. We cannot be hacked for your card details because we haven't got them. We store ordinary names and addresses on a non-internet connected non-Windows computer and so it is virtually impossible for anyone to get any information about you from us by hacking or virus bugging. We also employ regularly updated virus monitoring/deleting on our E-mail system.
       In order to gain this very superior system of credit card trading, (as used by some of the world's most respected on-line traders,) Infinity Junction had to be rigorously vetted by both our own bank and the internet trade servicing company. We have been found to conform to the highest standards of internet trading behaviour.

    Currency Conversion

       Prices on our website are in UK pounds at present, although we expect to go 'euro' within the forseeable future.
       This means those of you working in dollars, euros, or most other international currencies will pay a larger number of them than pounds. Coversion is done automatically when you purchase on-line, at favorable rates of exchange (better than tourist rates). Although the figure varies greatly, there are roughly 1-point-8 (1·8) US dollars or euros to the pound.

    Delivery Times by Post

       Delivery time depends mainly on payment method, how long your order takes to reach us and, for printed matter, the type of postage and where you live. Despatch of on-line orders and UK cash-with-orders is often on the same day when received early enough and if not, usually within 2 days, (excluding weekends and public holidays.) If we know of any unusual delay we will e-mail you. Larger UK cheques and all bankers orders in UK pounds have to clear first and the time varies with different banks, typically 1 to 3 weeks but occasionally more: despatch will normally be within 2 working days of clearing.
       2nd class mail inside the UK usually takes between 3 and 5 working days from posting to delivery, but can occasionally be longer. Inside Europe surface mail times vary but should be within about 3 weeks except at major holiday periods when it can be much longer. Beyond EC Europe times are very variable and can take 6 weeks or more to North America, or 8-10 weeks to Australasia, but again can occasionally be longer.

  •  A few of our books are dispatched from overseas, European customers should be aware that books from Australia for example are subject to similar delays that Australian customers will experience with UK based stocks.

    Order = Delivery? - (disclaimers)

       NOTE - automatic confirmation of an order does not mean we are legally bound to deliver. There are a number of possible reasons why this could happen...
       (1) If for example we are alerted to possible fraudulent use of credit cards, a credit refund is likely to be offered intead of goods. This is an anti-fraud measure.  If you are a genuine purchaser who falls victim of a refusal, please contact us.
       (2) Books controlled by other publishers may occasionally become unavailable without us being informed. If this or any similar failure by other publishers, self-publishers etc occurs a credit refund will be offered. Please inform us as soon as you suspect anything is wrong, then we will investigate.
