Internationally recognized Preventionist
Deborah Dupré Wheeler earned B.S. and Master's degrees at L.S.U. in
the U.S. and specialist post-graduate Dip. at Univ. of New England
Australia. Trainer, interventionist, therapist and edutainer, Deborah spent
over 25 years empowering disenfranchised groups in the U.S. Australia and
South Pacific Island Countries through unique, non-formal learning
programmes and TOT. Her passion is strengthening families to compassionately
assist alcoholic, other drug addict and self-harmer loved one in denial,
rejecting help - admit their condition and willingly commit to recovery.
Former WHO consultant, Deborah developed suicide prevention and mental
health prevention system coordination. Gene Dupré Wheeler, Special
Education teacher and writer, graduated from James Madison University
Harrisonburg Virginia U.S.A. Gene has spent his life advocating
for people with special needs. He has participated in numerous national
awareness-raising programs including The Walk for Justice from Alcatraz
Island California to Washington for Native American rights. Gene writes both
serious and humorous stories and lesson plans for children, youth and
adults. Deborah and Gene Dupré Wheeler have been in
substance abuse recovery for eleven years. Known for their creative
Edutainment with NabiŠ the Gecko, together, they co-author Nabi children's
prevention stories with corresponding parent and teacher lesson
plans.Throughout Australia and the South Pacific, they perform Structured
Interventions to help addicted people who do not want help before
hitting the bottom.
