| Looking After Number One is a most unusual and fascinating account of the development of mulitple sclerosis seen from the point of view of the wife. It details the trials, the prejudice, the good times and bad, and the final days of her much loved and greatly missed husband. Fran Brady, the young widow, reveals virtually every aspect both medical and personal in a sometimes grim, sometimes funny and frequently moving way. And she carries the story forward beyond death to how she tried to cope with the aftermath; she comes to some memorable conclusions. Particularly to anyone recently widowed, especially at a young age, or anyone facing multiple sclerosis, (including the medical and caring professions,) this is a sympathetic, very well written and intelligent book which is highly recommended reading. | ![]() |
