   Thanks to all who submitted, both successful and not. Thanks especially to those published authors and writers who contributed to this excellent collection.
   Desmond Meiring, one of those published authors, had his story Double Barbecue from this anthology selected for entry into The Caine Prize for African Writing.
   In all we think there are 18 separate countries represented by stories, although in many you wouldn't realise where you are. In fact we had submissions from England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, Eire, France, Spain, Greece, Canada, USA, Brazil, China, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa - and we saw settings from the Arctic to the tropics, and from remote islands through city centres, to a zoo. There's even one set in space. We picked what we thought was the best varied selection of 42 quite different stories and declined hundreds of others.
   You can buy Not For Bedtime at a discount compared to shop prices using the high security credit card purchasing system to which we are connected. Credit card orders have the advantage that you don't have to convert currencies: your card issuer does this automatically and usually at a much more favourable rate than 'bureaux de changes.' The process is a multi-stage procedure in order to comply with the latest anti-fraud security recommendations.

Why not register your interest now either by e-mail or in writing, then we'll send you details directly if and when we make a decision. We are toying with the ideas of sci-fi/fantasy or humour as the next theme, but we aren't very certain how many writers can do decent humorous stories, let us know if you can. If any of you have particular preferences as to a theme, tell us.
